C228 Disable Colour

Hi all

Looking to see if it's possible to disable the colour copy and print option via the Software Switch Setting in service mode in System 2? I do have the service manual and have trolled through it looking for possible solutions but can't seem to see anything. Not looking to do this via Authentication.

Why not?

You don't need to input any accounts. Just enable auth. and edit permissions for public user (restrict colour). Also look for option that "print with black" print jobs sent as colour.

I've done this on 4 and 8 series machines; it's the easiest way of converting colour machine into a b/w one.

If you don't want to use authentication then try custom display tool and remove copying colour and autocolour and use bw driver across all PCs.
