Cannot authenticate C754e to Active Directory

I cannot get a C754e (and multiple other bizhub e series machines) to authenticate to our AD

I have set up External Server with Server name =hostname of our AD server, server type= Active directory, default domain name = ourdomain.local

User Authentication set to External server authentication. DNS server set in machine resolves hostnames, domain name entered correctly and machine time matches AD server time.

Every attempt to authenticate on machine gives "failed to authenticate". error code 4. ( using username, username@domain.local or Domain\username with correct password. Tried other credentials too)

    Would appreciate any suggestions

    Cheers
    Pat

I looked up error code 4 and the explanation is just "failed to authenticate".
Try enter only the user name as the MFP picks up the domain name you have already entered.
Check also that the time and time zone is set correctly in the MFP.

Could also be a port issue, default is 389 and needs to be open to DC. The MFP might need to be configured for SSL also. Your MFP may not support the authentication protocol your server uses. In some cases special firmware on the older devices might help. Emujo
