Always used the one from software.informer.
What is different on V2 why do you need that version?

I wasn't aware a V2 was even available or in the works, for that matter (the original hasn't been updated in well over a decade, AFAIK).

The only change I wish they would make would be to make it so you could input a host name vs. IP only. Then, we wouldn't have to go on service calls because Windows did an update and set the PC back to DHCP, thereby rendering the FTP Utility useless when the PC is a whole different IP than what the software was set up for.

On networks with name resolution it works with no problem, not much to do with the app more to do with the machine being able to find the right ftp host.
So you can use FTP with host names.

We've never been successful getting FTP Utility to work when a hostname is input in the one touch.

Depends if there is a local DNS server on the network and the machine is setup to use it.

I've seen this one get recommended before. Loads and sets up pretty easily.
