MF282 Scan/fax not ready?

Hi,

Got an MF282 that keeps indicating that it is busy "preparing scan/fax and userbox"
its not coming in ready to scan etc . .

Also when paper is empty it select another drawer even though I've selected not to allow this in user adjustment

What causes this?

Not much experience in this model so . . . thanks in advance !

For the first part check your HDD it may be dead or disabled.
For the second I'm not sure what do you mean. Are saying that you disabled tray auto switching and it still switches trays?
