You could just load a tray with paper colours in that order as a low tech option

      unconventional without a doubt

Not having your exact press, nor knowing which version of CWS you have I cannot be sure this will work, but if I had a job come in like this, this is what I would try at first.

Load 4 trays on the machine each with a different colour - noting what colour is in each (obviously)

        In Short:
Use CWS Media tab to asign the correct tray to each of the first 4 pages.
Then in the VDP tab set the 'Define record length' to 4 pages.

        In detail:
        Open CWS
        Select Media tab
        Click on [New Page Range]
Set "Define Media for Pages" to 1 (as in page 1)
Set "Input Tray" to whatever tray has the blue paper e.g. "Tray 1"
Leave all other options as "Document Setting" unless you had different types of media in terms of 'weight' and 'type'
Click [Add Definition] - Don't click [Close]

Repeat for page 2,3,4 changing the page range and input tray fields before clicking [Add Definition]
Once you've defined the trays for the first 4 pages click [Close]

You should have four lines in the "Mixed Media" window

To get the machine to repeat this order
        Select VDP tab
Under the "Define Record Length" section set the Pages per record to 4.

I have used this on our setup especially for NCR and in effect the job collates on press.

Watch the image though, I found that on one job where it was critical (tabular artwork) that each sheet aligned almost perfectly, that when I had to use the bottom trays as well as the trays in the Paper Feed unit that the image was 2mm off, simply due to how the paper was aligned in the different tray types.

I'll be interested if this works on your setup
        Good luck
        Mark

I should say that this assumes that the artwork is a single .pdf file of 444 pages.
