K7135(IP423) display E87-3 error code

K7135 install IP423, shows error code E87-3;

replace hard drive(2GB compact flash card and PCMCIA adapter).

After the replacement of the boot, IP423 Can't complete initialization.

moments later displayed:

"Printer board failure, Press auto to bypass Printer function,
Please call service."


Are not a print controller software were destroyed???
Reinstall the print controller software can solve the problem?

Note: The IP (print controller) system code must be upgarded to a minimum version of 5.9.0 to support the use of CF card ,

I overlooked this point....


Now need IP-423 firmware ver5.9.0.

Is you IP just PCL or PCL & PS? It doesn't matter here is the system code for both. Also the 2G compact flash card you installed must be formatted with FAT ( Not FAT32 ) before installing. Also I can't remember on that Ip if the system card has to be formated with VXworks. If you rewrite the firmware and still have problems you may have to look into that.

Found the problem,

Before installing,

1\The PCMCIA hard drive are viewed after following this procedure by using the PCMCIA slot on my windows based laptop,and formatted to become FAT .

2\Displayed printer board failure message after! Technicians also formatted the 32M system memory card in WINDOWS XP!

Now:

1\Run HyperTerminal (Connect an RS-232C Serial cable between the PC and the IP423 print controller).

2\If reformat the CF card to VxWorks style formatting. Can resolve this problem???

Run HyperTerminal on the PC, use the RS-232 (DB9) to connect PC with the IP423 print controller, open the copier power, the self-test is as follows, can not be completed, unable to enter the VxWorks system,
