c3350i 9701 error

I have a 9701 error on a C3350i, when i do a google search it shows possible solutions on this site but any links I try say they are broken, so has anyone dealt with this error lately? The manual indicates a scanner cable issue. A lot of times solutions here are more relevant. any ideas?

Try clearing the error .. if that doesnt work then replace cable
