    Minolta Di-450, noisy Polygonmirror-motor

    My first machine having this problem. Any other solutions than exchanging the part? Cleaning the shaft didn't work (as expected).

    I had the same problem, it's getting louder and louder and there is no fix. Just prepare a new one and stand by

      I have had 4 or 5 of these. customer called and said it sounded like a siren. and it was very loud. these units are very expensive from minolta. that is why I have about 10 put aside for spares. the replacement is not that hard. let us know how you make out...

        Thanks for the input guys, it confirms my feeling that only replacement will take care of the problem. I have a junker for such purposes in storage, being stripped from every possible part including some harnesses except..... The Laser Unit until now.
        Believe me just last week when the scrap guy came I had an urge to throw the carcass as it is but something inside of me told me "No pal, not yet"
