On color pages there are multiple yellow smudges (see photo), black pages print fine. I already tried cleaning the yellow drum, this did not change anything. After a color page has been printed, the smudges can be seen on the transfer belt. I carefully wiped the toner smudges from the transfer belt to see if that would make any difference, but on the next print the smudges were still there. The transfer belt has been replaced not too long ago, and since the smudges are just yellow, i guess the cause must be something else. Any ideas?

Replace yellow IU.A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.👍 3 -
Thanks for the recommendation, i was hoping there would be another option, because there are similar smudges showing for magenta (although more faint), which would mean i will also have to replace the magenta imaging unit soon.
So that means that the surface of the photoconductor has been damaged irreversibly?Comment

You always have last opportunity before replace IU to try disassemble IU(sorry no instructions here) and see if opc drum is damaged.A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.

I have replaced the yellow imaging unit as recommended, and the problem with the yellow smudges has been fixed:

Any idea what might be the cause, as far as i know the only part that comes in contact with the imaging units is the transfer belt?Comment
