I series - Noisy Waste Conveyance Units

Hi guys,

seem to be getting a lot of the i series having squeaks from the waste toner conveyance units, tried lubricating the gears but only lasts about a month before the noise is back,

anyone have any remedies apart from ordering a new unit?

Yes... we disassemble the gear section and use a grease suitable for plastic. That gear shaft is surprisingly long.

what grease do you use?

Keeze food grade silicone. On Amazon and cheap.

Take off the front cover and gear cover, lube all the shafts. I must have done over a 100 of these in the field by now. In the beginning I used a little 3-in-1 oil from any hardware store and that worked well. After the bulletin was released I use the recommended grease:

After we started to grease 3 shafts we have no problems. We even carry one piece greased in car stock and just replace them straight away and later grease removed one in shop. Didn't see one greased from factory yet.

I've had several of these squeaking. I just oiled the gears with 3 in 1 oil and haven't had one reoccur yet.
