To elaborate on the title, from what I can tell, most of the usual service items/consumables listed in the PM tables (toners, feed rollers, drums, developer, dv units, fusing belt and associated wear parts, transfer belt, transfer rollers, etc). are shared between the 1000, 2000 and 3000 series of KM production engines.
However, I see that starting from the 4000 series, they've started using different consumables (e.g. for the drums, DR-620 instead of DU-105). Is it some sort of pricing trick or are the units not interchangeable between newer and older engines (like the way I've been using the DU-104s in the C6500s while they're not officially compatible)?
Finally, I assume that parts for the peripherals (e.g. PF-707) are all the same and will be available for a long time?
I'm asking this from the perspective of evaluating how feasible servicing a C1070 or a C2070 will be 5-10 years down the line, since I am looking to buy one used. Also, if anyone has a used equipment dealer based in the EU to recommend that sells presses like this I'd be interested to hear.
