[Noise] Bizhub C284e – Noisy Output Tray (Clicking/Gear Noise)

My Konica Minolta C284e is making a clicking noise from the output tray area - the one that moves up and down after printing to collect the finished paper. It still works fine, but the noise is getting worse, like the gears are slightly jamming or slipping. Anyone had this before or know what to check?

Image of an example copier - red arrows to indicate where the tray goes up and down and makes the clicking noise.

Does it only make noise when tray going up or down? You can set tray in service mode to stay up all the time.

If it makes clicking noise when sitting idle it's the fuser bearings / bushings, very common issue.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, only when going up and down. I heard about service mode. So I can just set it at a height and it will stay that way? I'm guessing that messes with other functions like stapling?

You can still staple when setting tray in up position.
