C550I/FS539 "Remove paper from output bin" msg.

Morning all! Have a weird one I have been fighting on one unit. C550i with an FS539 attached to it. End user randomly gets the "Please remove paper from output bin" when printing or copying to tray 2 on finisher. End user waves their hand above Tray 2 and the unit continues to work correctly. Seems like this happens randomly. I found a doc on on the service portal that instructed to turn en engine switch 16 to help with this issue and issue persisted. Newest function version firmware is installed on unit and finisher. Changed out the sensors that detect paper in tray 2, changed out the tray 2 "paw" sensor. Replaced finisher with different unit and issue persists. Just reaching out to see if anyone else has run into this issue.

    Thank you!

    JC

I have not seen or have had the unit throw the msg when on site. The end user has sent over videos and images of the message when it has happened. They even showed when they just waved their hand above tray 2 and it started working again. It almost seems as if the command to raise the tray to the top at the start of the next job is not being executed. Thank you for the thread link, the message always points to tray 2 on the unit im dealing with. They do use tray 3 for fax reporting, and it does have the output sensor on tray 3 installed. Im thinking maybe I am getting some wierd commands going to the wrong places. Will check on this tomorrow and will udpate.
