You folks have definitely convinced me to avoid the UK-208. Thank you!

Would you folks say the powerline network adaptors are better than the wireless router (set to "range extender" mode)? My hesitation with the powerline network adaptors is that they only receive one Ethernet connection, although I have two devices at the remote location that could use this adaptor. A router (set to "range extender" mode) should be able to connect several devices.

Hardwire back to the router is not easily done. The location of the printer versus the router poses issues. I would have dangling/running Ethernet cords through various rooms.

Um, I may have answered myself, but I definitely was not confident of the answer because the printer's error was completely cryptic. I had a strong hunch it was related to my attempt to turn on Wi-Fi, but otherwise, I was unsure if the error was related. So that's why I asked here.

When dealing with trouble codes search google for that code, like bizhub c-xxxx error code and trust the answer on the printcopy.info site. They are what the service manual says. Stay away from fixya.com.
Regarding the wireless extender. You said you have to connect 2 wired devices to the same wi-fi network if I understood correctly. Solutions: 1) use 2 range extenders (1 per device), configured as wireless adapters (they will not extend the network, just converts wi-fi signal to wired). 2) Use 1 range extender and 1 switch. Look for a wi-fi router with range extender function (not regular router) with more than 1 lan output (I can't remember now exactly what model was but I think tp-link had some with 1x WAN, 4x LAN and the possibility to use it as range extender).
