Brand new Konica 4020i 5020i dirty prints out of the box

Might as well bring to everyone's attention, purchased 1 4020i/5020i mfp a month ago and customer loved it. Worked great. They ordered another one and right out of the box had dirty shaded prints like an overtoned issue caused probably by the toner or drum unit.

These units are so affordable, I just ordered a replacement one rather than repairing the faulty new unit with dirty prints.

What are the odds, just got a call from customer, the 2nd brand new unit arrived and also had dirty prints right out of the box.

Anyone else seen issues with these 4020i 5020i models?

Blaze, we have ZERO of these KM units but hundreds of their Brother origin installed and maintained and never had such one. Can you please send us example? Could be something wrong customer did with new machine?
These are ridiculously easy to work on and true customers love them so I'm very interested what have KM managed to do on them 😂

What model Brother is equivalent to these?

I believe 5020i would be MFCL6900DW

I had this problem on many many brothers out of the box with the factory toner.
And also on the KM models.

Thanks for replying, I can confirm that the fix for me was replacing the starter toner with a new oem Konica TNP78 toner on both machines that had dirty copies.
