Mono i-series not detecting waste bottle full

I've been seeing this on a few machines, all at the same large account (school district). I remove the waste bottle and it's VERY heavy. The window piece is full and can't be seen through. But the machine still doesn't give a warning to replace the waste bottle. Any idea what could cause this?

These were all installed at the same time in early 2021, so they do have old firmware. It hasn't been updated because of potential conflicts with Papercut software and card readers.

You say the window is full and the box heavy. What happens if you empty the waste box?

Did it cause ant trouble with buildup or a blockage or noise.

Is your front door switch working?

Stick a piece of paper in the sensor gap and insert the box. Does it then show to empty the box?
    Whatever

Never heard of this issue but I'd consider to run an update on one machine only first to see if it helps.
If you keep the function level on the installed version it's unlikely to run in trouble.

Simply recognation of a full wastetonerbottle has nothing to do with newer firmware. Make a test with a peace of paper.
