Serial number must be entered contact your service representative on Bizhub 454e

I must be pretty lucky to have not seen this problem before now, but I have a few questions on how to fix it.
I saw the bulletin #11472 on the KM site mentioning the preventative firmware and it mentions replacing the MFP board if you have already had the problem.
I also saw several threads on here about it and would like to narrow down my options on fixing this copier.

    1. Can I just replace the battery to get the machine going? If so, where can you buy them and what should the voltage be when I check the old one?
Once the battery is replaced, is there any sort of procedure to follow, or do you just power the copier up with new firmware and go?

    2. If I put in a used MFP board/reset tool to get it going, should I replace the battery on the used board, or will the preventative firmware keep the battery from failing?

I'll definitely be getting that preventative firmware loaded on my remaining machines as soon as I can.

Any other tips on solving this issue would be much appreciated!

    Thanks!

I had the same problem, and checking the counter it was 0, and everything on the machine needed to be initialized. If you touch the exclamation point it should list everything that the machine has and need to be configured.

In my case we just cannibalized the machine for all the good parts for other 454e, since replacing the battery is not as easy as it looks. And loading everything back up took hours.

Me and others did but not for this specific problem, why asking?

All of the reasons I'm asking are in my original post, but I'll list them again.
In bulletin #11472 KM mentions that the problem I'm having is caused by a dead battery and their fix is to replace the MFP board. If I can just replace the battery instead, that is the route I would like to go.

            Battery should be CR2477

Just to rule out the battery: Power off machine and meassure the voltage.

Have you tried putting the serial number in under service mode? If you can get to service mode.
