I must be pretty lucky to have not seen this problem before now, but I have a few questions on how to fix it.
I saw the bulletin #11472 on the KM site mentioning the preventative firmware and it mentions replacing the MFP board if you have already had the problem.
I also saw several threads on here about it and would like to narrow down my options on fixing this copier.
1. Can I just replace the battery to get the machine going? If so, where can you buy them and what should the voltage be when I check the old one?
Once the battery is replaced, is there any sort of procedure to follow, or do you just power the copier up with new firmware and go?
2. If I put in a used MFP board/reset tool to get it going, should I replace the battery on the used board, or will the preventative firmware keep the battery from failing?
I'll definitely be getting that preventative firmware loaded on my remaining machines as soon as I can.
Any other tips on solving this issue would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
