C458 unable to connect to authentication device

HI Gang!
I'm hoping to leverage your collective brain power once again.

We got a couple C458's coming off lease and they both have RFID authentication that I need to remove.

I have tried turning off software switch 12 (0/0) and have update the firmware to GCK-Y2 and still get the following error message after boot:

Unable to connect to authentication device.
Check connection and turn the Power OFF and ON.

I've tried working Manual section '8.3.2 Authentication Device' backward to no avail.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Enter Stop 9 (Billing Setting)
and disable the desired function.
