I have a 3510 that will not lift the #1 tray and reads out of paper?

Did you check for paper behind the draw?

Yes, I had the cassette out and tried to get it to raise by tripping the sensors, nothing, thinking its a motor issue or board

When you check the input checks, is the cassette showing as set? Check the actuators on the tray. When you push the tray in it is supposed to hit the present sensor. Some of these have been damaged.

Check the limt sensor that is actuated by the feed tyre raising. I had one fail and got the symptoms you describe. To explain, it shows out of paper because the paper detect actuater is not actuated by the cassette, at the same time the failed sensor is telling the machine that the cassette tray is fully up. Therefore the tray does not rise. Hope this helps
