    Bizhub c220

    Hi Guys so I have recentley been sent a c220 that sits there once turned on it sits there spining timer then a frozen timer symbol I have tryed to fault find this machie makes all the right nosies but refuses to boot up I have no idea what on earth is going on but im gussing this is either an mfp problem or firmware problem anyone else share there experience this machine is over 10 years old I happen to have 2 of them one is perfect fully working but there had to be one that was just going to give me grief can anyone help is there a remote possibilty that this is failed firmware ? is it possible to reflash the mfp to latest firmware version and is this via a simple usb stick method

    It could be as simple as Firmware. Or the NVRAM could be faulty or else MFPB.
    Check if you get at least 3.3V on the NVRAM battery. Could be that the battery failed and lost the ironically called "non volatile data".
    There is a NVRAM recovery tool out in the wild somewhere.

        Thankyou I will give this a try problem I have is that I cant even get into service mode by holding down the utility key I have had this machine boot once and once only thought to myself oh great must be just a bad connection put the covers back on and plugged it back in and guss what stupid timer symbol again grrr give me a kyocera anyday

          Was a good model I like them a lot but getting old now. Like a said check the battery voltage. I uploaded the SM to the same folder. Have a look at the firmware writing procedure. Do do not need to access service mode to start FW.

            Well A big thankyou for the first fix must of been firmware it now boots up but says no animation data available and wont let me select utility key it seems ?

              Well ok then. Good work.
              I added the "movie data" file to the folder. Its the x.tar file. Put the file on the USB root and plug it into the front side USB not the service port.
              Or check the manual for the procedure to install.
              Think its under System2 > install data.

              The utility button could be physically broken... Or it will just take time to boot all the functions completely. So leave it on for 10+ minutes and try again.

                  Thankyou once again you have helped me no end just any ideas as to why I have since flashing firmware and resolving those isses have I now got images with lines in just Magenta and Cyan perfect equally spaced a3 or a4 there always therecopier since firmware update.jpg I have checked both drums and both are clean going to check if this does the same by printing to the copier pretty sure ive missed some kind of adjustment no sign of yello or black lines

                    These lines only happen when copying printig from a files does not produce this

                          If i copy in B&W it does not produce lines either its odd that it produces lines from scan only and of course the ADF

                            Ok so it seems this i am stupid and have failed to do what is required as a install my lines are because ive not done the install process whcih i get but where on earth do i find a manual for such a thing IE install manual c220 with procedure I have hunted everywhere they are like rocking horse doo doo
