konica 7085 fusing...or not

    konica 7085 fusing...or not

    hello all

    we have a 7085 with a fusing problem (image rubs off)
    and have tried everything we can think of
    it was giving various codes for fuser temps and replacing the rollers seemed to do the trick ...well we dont get the codes anymore and it is fusing better than it was but it still isn't quite right
    all the fuser componets seem to be good condition as we have replaced much of it

    has anyone else run into this or have any ideas of what to do next?

          The fusing unit pressure release shaft is not properly positioned.......... MAYBE......?!
          Remove the fusing unit cover by loosening two screws and insert a screwdriver into the hole of the pressure release shaft and rotate it fully in the counterclockwise direction.

              poor fusing

              U GO ALBASOUL!!! being a dinosaur specialist, i'm old skool did u ck your fuser nip? ck your lpr tension springs/ latch? is your toner density normal? try new thermistors? if all else fails kick up the heat, if u cannot may be a bd/triac/switching error in which your timing is off. did u swap fuser units and eliminate these?

                  hey thanks guys for all the info

                  I'm going to play with the temps next as some stocks seem to fuse better than others...it is curently at default

                  all the mechanical bits seem to be in good order and I always check that latch when I have the cover off

                  we do have a few skeletons around here to swap parts out of
                  and was thinking about the thermistors and was wondering if there is a simple way to test them

                      The pressure springs could also be dislodged - although the most common cause is the pressure lever in the wrong position.

                          maybe your problem similar i faced before. symtons was poor fusing, always show warming up while copying in priocess. Sometimes it just work finely. All thermistors and heater lamps already replaced with new. triac also tried. physically the fusing unit looked very nice without any spring dislodged. After few attemps but didn't work right finally i swapped with another fusing unit. It worked fine.
