    C253 scan to server 2008

One of our customers change from SBS2003 to SBS2008 and now the C253 cannot scan to e-mail or SMB shared folders. The ip of the server is the same.
The c253 scan log says "server connection error".

Tried to scan to my own laptop to a shared desktop folder and it works fine.

I think it is due to some security setting on the SBS2008 server but havent been able to figure it out.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Toly,
Had the same problem with a customer scanning to email on a 2008 server. I am sure there is security related issues but not sure what they are yet. In this case I set them to scan via the isp server mail.bigpond.com which got me out of trouble.
Not much help I know but at least you know your not the only one to come across this.

You are both right as Server 2008 has an elevated security policy.

With the 2008 server, have you gone as far as to create an account for the copier to use? If you have, then have you added the copier to the correct group?

Have you tried using different credentials that are currently working on the network such as the administrator details?

If the client is using Exchange 2008, you might also need to white list the copiers IP address so that Exchange will allow anything from the machine.

When setting up scan to email, make sure you enter in the username and password for the account the machine is using.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Solution found by selecting "Start over TLS" in the SSL setup for scan to email on the C253.

You will alos need to disable digital signed policies to allow SMB scanning. Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.
