Hard disk upgrade for Bizhub C350

    Hi mates

I have a broken "hd-501" hard disk extension for a bizhub c350. A new disk is very expensive although its looking like a normal 2,5" hdd. But my coworker says that i cant just put in a normal 2,5" hdd drive, there must be some special software or anything on the original hdd drives??
Do any of you know any way to use a normal hdd drive from a notebook etc. ??

    Thanks in advance

    Regards

A standard SATA driive works for the Bizhub 751 series, no special software needed, just HDD format. I would try before I purchased from KM, can't make it any worse!!!
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

you can use a standard 40-80gb notebook harddrive. Just do the physical format first after you install it on the copier. Then the logical format.

We use them all the time, lot less expensive than buy from KM.

          Agree with Buster.
Just be aware that the physical format can take over 1/2 hour. The logical format only takes a minute or two.

FYI, KM does not make the hdd's that are fitted on the MFP's. But Toshiba does...

It was not a Samsung but a Seagate, sorry :/

Now i have tried with a 20GB Toshiba hdd, and it worked fine. So after that i have tried with another Seagate 60GB hdd like the one on first try. But it makes the same error "C-12C8"... Maybe its something with the brand? or is 60GB too much for the Bizhub C350 to handle??
