    7145 doesn't like PDF!

    Hi.

After a few days of searching I found out that not every question has been asked yet on the internet.
We have two Konica 7145 copiers. One with a HDD and printer installed.
Since I don't like TIFF files, I experimented on saving stuff in PDF format.
The only problem is that there is no way to reuse it!

If I try to use in any way the pdf files on the drive it says "It is impossible to operate this data".

Am I not noticing something obvious to this or saving scans in pdf format is just for show ?!
And is there any way to access the contents of the drive from a PC through LAN ?

    Thanks !

I would assume that you are using a PCL driver.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

PCL it is but the problem isn't printing from PC but printing PDFs from the copiers internal HDD. (or accessing somehow the data from PC not just by sending it to the PC from the 7145)

        Do you have PS-344 installed?

          OK. Again from the top.

Printing from PC: working. (with PCL and PS drivers too)
Printing TIFF files from the internal drive of the copier: working.

Printing or using in any way PDF files scanned to copier internal drive: still not working.

(and is there any way to access the internal hard drive of a 7145 with IP-432 controller through LAN from a PC? ex. ftp)

            7145 PDF

PDF's are memory hogs. Try scanning a blank piece of paper. If it works, it's memory. If not, the postscript is the problem. Postscript versions can conflict. Check for the latest firmware for your machine.
