Well this is really good information! So lets recap: He has a machine with a known bad TDS sensor, to make the machine continue to work he has Turned L detect OFF, and disabled ERROR CODE DISPLAY. So now he has a machine with no Toner Control that will continue to run without displaying any warnings. And he thinks this is a good thing!
Let me predict the results: In about 5000 copies his transfer corona will be filled with toner and developer, Toner and dev will be leaking into both paper trays, his drum and blade will be shot from the abrasion of pulling dev. and the fuser will need rebuilding as well. OH he will also have to brake down and replace the TDS and Developer, or just throw the machine away!Online Store is closed. Chip resetting is a thing of the past! Thank you to all my past customers.

So, I am planning to replace the TDS sensor. Once I replace the TDS sensor, clean the developing unit, add developer and go into mode 36 to do the L-detect do I need to do anything in order not to get the "Please adjust L detection" message deleted or should it not occur once the L-detection is done?Comment

Try this...it sounds like he did what we used to call a "Mind Meld" and restored only part of the settings. The other sections being reset should be all it needs. Give it a try and let me know if it works. If I come up with something else I'll post.
DescriptionHow to reset the machine, initialize memory to factory defaults.SolutionTo reset memory to factory defaults, perform the following:
1. Enter the 25 mode (power the machine ON, while pressing the 2 and 5 keys).
2. Select Software SW.
3. Using the up/down arrows, scroll to address 3-4 (All Memory Reset).
4. Select OFF.
5. Power the machine OFF.
6. Enter the 47 mode (turn the machine ON, while pressing the 4 and 7 keys).
7. Enter 9, 2, press the START key, press the STOP/CLEAR key.
8. Enter 0, 9, 6, press the START key, press the STOP/CLEAR key.
9. Enter 0, 9, 3, and press the START key.
10. Power the machine OFF/ON.
Note: When the memory board is initialized, all data is deleted.
