You don't need mail server for FTP scaning. First install "konicaminolta ftp utility" (find it with google) on computer where you work with scaned images, and run it.
Second, with a internet browser ,type in adress bar the IP of your copier. In this interface , in "Scan" create "one touch destination" (PC or FTP- anonymous) .This one touch will be find in scan tab on the copier.Select it , and press Start on the copier for scaning documents .( but take care-the most firewalls block 21 port-FTP port, so unblock this port or suspend firewall for scaning period).

You don't need mail server for scan to ftp. Just install FTP utility. Open the bizhub 350/250 web connection using web browser. Fill the one-touch address, Ip address, directory etc. After installing the FTP utility, run the FTP utility. For FTP utility setting you can browse to your FTP folder. Beware with your firewall, unblock your port 21 or you can make exception for your windows firewall.
I hope it will solve your problem.

Minolta's FTP Utility will not work with Vista or W7. Here's a very good free alternative:

Quick 'n Easy FTP Server Lite
