What is the difference between Konica TDS sensor 26NA88041 and 26NA88040

I had a 26NA88040 TDS sensor which got damaged. Can I replace it with TDS sensor 26NA88041 or should I stick with 26NA88040?
    Is there any difference?

It's the same part, just one is a revised version. The last digit refers to the part version or revision. So, the part ending with a 0 is the first one. The part ending with a 1 is better, revised, updated or something like that. If Konica Minolta decides to, once again, alter it, it will be called 26NA88042, then 26NA88043 and so on and so forth.

So, ideally, you should stick with 26NA88041. But, if you still have in stock those ending with a 0, it shouldn't hurt - unless the reason they modified it is related to the problems you're having.

      Thank you for the info
So can you please tell me the correct steps on how to change this sensor, developer and then adjust the L-detect?
Basically I will be exchanging this sensor and the developer

        RE: Replacing TDS Sensor

Always throughly clean your Developer unit first! Remove the old TDS sensor making sure you have a good seal so no developer leaks around the sensor. Put in NEW Developer, yes NEW Developer that is uncontaminated into the Developer unit and then fire up the machine and run your L-Detect. remember that from now on when you do a Developer change on these machines that you always want to remove that sensor before you go sticking your vacuum in there or you will destroy it and have to replace it again.

        I hope this helps.

Hi Bradley, thank you for the info. I damaged the sensor by screwing it to hard last time I changed the developer. The sensor basically cracked in half (I changed the type of the screw after this).

Also, last time after cleaning the dev unit and adding developer, running the L-detect etc. I got the ""Please adjust L detection" when I exited mode 36. I wonder if that is normal with a damaged TDS sensor or do I need to adjust something else once I replace the damaged sensor?

Just doing the L-Detect should work. The reason you got that message is probably because the sensor was broken.

If you changed the screw type, I hope you are using non-magnetic screws which must be used with toner sensors, otherwise the magnetic field they create around themselves would severely affect the toner reading,

they must be aluminium or plastic screws not the normal metallic (magnetic) ones.

Nice, I had a regular, how do I get one of these plastic or aluminum ones?

Hmmm, I didn't find any info about the type of screw that is needed for the TDS sensor. The service manual has nothing about this. Where did you find this info? Do you have the item # by any chance?

Try 00Z253061, from the Parts Catalog.

Someone check his developing units for different konica copiers (konica 7145 and 7022, if I recall correctly) and all three developing units had screws that attached the TDS sensor which were magnetized (attracted to the magnet)
