8031 'Dirty' Prints and Ghosting

Hi - I have a 8031 and the quality is now poor after 2-3 pages of printing
- color's are no longer accurate
- 'ghost' image of previous page now appears on next page
- toner can come off
- over all poor toner quality.

I have also started to get a 'clunky' sound, like a gear is slipping, after 2-3 prints as well.

Is this a sign that my Transfer Belt Unit has failed (not rotating a full 180 degress to be cleaned for the next page)? I get code c0098 and c1220 as well if it gets too hot or I print too many pages.

did you check the fixing unit?
sound to me not fusing the print out.
