Also the density evenness adjustment that was introduced in the C6501 can now be done by printing of a test pattern and using the X-Rite and profile maker to create a profile that can be loaded straight into the machine from a USB stick, really setting up the front-to-back colour evenness can be done by X-Rite rather than eye.

It has 2 pre-registration sensors and 2 independently driven pre-registration rollers that can straighten skew paper before it hits the registration roller by adjusting the speed of either the front or rear roller.

Xerox Users are doing this (but Xerox parts are lighter and smaller than KM parts)

My guess is that you would either have to work for a KM dealer, get employed at KM directly, or work for someone that is going to buy one then they might train you to be an in house technician...possibly.

It would be pretty cool to get training on it though wouldn't it.

Maybe there's a way to hack into the touch panel control screen and make it like a tv or something. If it has an external server, pop in an ethernet card if there's room and watch netflix online.

I think the Operation Panel has a USB connection. I just found out that the Drawers can be removed from the Large Capacity Tray and replaced with a cooler for drinks and such. A hammock is standard with all installations.

Having some discussions with our sales staff...seems they are genuinely afraid to even mention this beast to our customers based on price alone. Stupid jackasses...so it is up to me to mention it to our customers and talk them into purchasing one. Will I get the commission? Likely not. Some dick in the sales department will spend 5 minutes on it and get that coin, either that or completely turn the customer off with bullshit.

I wonder what the price tag on these is...

                              $180K-$250K depending on configuration.

Ya, that was the gist I got too...base model was roughly $150K no options.

Not practical for some places, but large print shops could likely afford this. I've heard that many print shop presses make this look like chump change.
