Have a code of e56-2 on machine which said it is the image control board,I have replaced it with a good
board and control panel from a good working machine but it still want go away.Any suggestions,the machine has been unplug for almost 2 years and it had a equtrak hook to it which was removed and the jumper put back on it.

Try Reseating or replacing the HDD. From my experience I have had HDD' s go bad and cause that code. otherwise I would have replaced the ICB like you did. So
