    MC1690MF toner problem

I have 2 MC1690F units with the same toner problem for black. I replaced new black toner many times but still displayed "K Toner Empty Replace K Toner". I also tried clearing SDRAM & RAM but still no progress..

    Any other ideas???

Are you using OEM"s? Does the machine cycle after replacing cartridge? are all colors showing empty?

Yup am using OEMs. We distribute OEMs parts & consumables to our clients. "K Toner Empty Replace K Toner" will be displayed on the LCD screen seconds after installing the new K toner. All CMY colors have 90+% toner status except for K has 0%.

The cartridge(s) have a counter chip on them. Have you checked the contacts in the machine where the blk toner sits?

Yep I have checked & cleaned thoroughly the chip & the contacts (connector pin) but still it doesn't work.

Might be control board does not detect new cartridge has been installed. How old is this printer? Is it still covered under warranty. KMBS printer guys are pretty good about replacing parts/printers under warranty. Give the hotline a call.
