    Pale Copies

    Hey guys,

I have a Minolta Dialta Di152 photocopier that has suddenly started making pale copies for no apparent reason. I don't think the problem is in the optics because the problem exists even when I make a print from the PC which is connected to it.

Any ideas as to what could cause this and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Frankie.

Check the laser mirrors and glasses for dirt or fogging.

If you pull the density to the maximum when taking a copy, do the copies become darker? If not, you probably have lack of toner on the developer. If that's the case, check the toner system for clogging.

      Thanks mrwho,

When I put the darkness to maximum it's exactly the same. Where do you think the toner could be clogging?

I just pulled apart the top half of the imaging unit tonight (the part with the drum in it) for another issue (the waste toner wasn't emptying out and was therefore causing black streaks on the page, which has happened before, anyhow, that's fixed now) and the pale copies persisted after that job.

Thanks very much for your help.

      Cheers,

      Frankie.
