has any one got any ideas how to stop the black picker finger on image trans belt unit from turning over and knackering the belt?

Remove it, or better yet find out what stock they are running that causes that.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

I remove them and alter the secondary transfer voltages to about +4. Had no come backs as yet.
