C6501/ Draw 4 -Paper tray does not move

C6501/ Draw 4 -Paper tray does not move

Draw 4 has no paper but the machine detects paper.
The paper tray does not move up and down.
No errors and sensors are ok

    Any ideas, please?

    Thanks in advance!

swap tray 4 with tray 5.

If the problem moves with tray 4 in the lower position, tray 4 has problems, check the tray 4 harness (on the tray itself) for shorts, recheck the sensor.

If the problem appears with tray 5 in the upper position, again, check the harness for the upper deck for shorts (on the main body of the PF unit), replace the control board for the PF unit.

Also check the linkage that lifts the pickup roller ass'y, it can jump teeth and will not let the sensor flag drop below the sensor. Just had this same problem yesterday.

I agree, that happens too, most annoying...I think it is because the user does not fully remove the drawer to remove or add paper.

The problem is in Drawer 4, but it's not the sensors and not the feed rollers assembly.
Another issue I am having is both drawer 4 and 5 cannot be open; there is no 5 volts going to the sensor that is activated by the handle. This is something I created in the process of testing the drawers ...
