Problem with Konica 7020 not giving ip input option on 421 print board.

    Hi all,

It has been covered in the past however, I cant seem to find a simple answer anywhere, hope someone can help me.

Just installed a Konica 7020 that already had a 421 print board installed and was used by it's previous customer/owner. I press the print/scan button to get into user option display but none of the options are allowing me to input a new ip address? Has anyone had experience of this and if so, I would really appreciate some help.

    Thank you.

Execute the arp command. For example, if the MAC address of the network interface card is 00:11:22:33:44:55 and the IP address to assign is 192.168.0.11, then input in the command prompt as shown below, and then press [Enter].

    C:\>arp -s 192.168.0.11 00-11-22-33-44-55

Be patient and repeat the whole as long as it works ;-)

is this a standard way to input an IP address into all print cards or is this a konica minolta trick only...?

        Hi Dallas,

Thanks very much for the information, I will give it a go on Tuesday, hopefully that will do the trick. As I mentioned in the original post, the machine will not at all allow me in any way to input an ip address, it doesn't even give me an option to do so. Within the various menus there is nothing at all that allows an ip to be entered. I will have another go Tuesday though with your suggestion.

        Regards.

interesting... I did some research and found that this arp -s command is useful for assigning ip addresses to mac addresses but to my knowledge it does not work for assigning ip addresses to konica minolta print cards...

can you elaborate on the use of arp -s

There are 6 ways to assign the IP address to the NIC.
            • Use DHCP
            • Use BOOTP Lite (Software)
            • Use the arp command from Windows
            • Use the arp command from UNIX
            • Use MAP (Software on the CD)
            • Use NIManage from Macintosh

Another way to change the IP address is via Web Connection. sysadm password is required to change this setting.

Note: This is a LPD/LPR Print Controller. You need to configure a LPR Port. The queue name is: PORT1 (upper case).
