    Have you done a thorough comparison of the network configuration pages between the 'good' and 'bad' machines? Might turn up something. Firmare version differences? Are there security settings on the network that require the MAC addresses to be authenticated. Devices on the network can and do block unknown devices (MACs).

      Well it turns out that Konica / Minolta released 2 patches last week. A tech was in last night, uploaded these and so far we have not had a reoccurance of the scan issue.

        We have a C550 with this problem, and we've been down the whole "check the network/settings" route.

        It's the only one of our C550s which has this behavior

        Our local Konica office hasn't heard of any FTP patches ...

          We were told by our technician that there was those patches released directly from Japan.
