I always go back in and double check the PC life counter after the reset before F8. More than once the PC Life did not reset on the 1st attempt (other counters do reset 1st time) Take a quick look see.

I have had good luck (once) messing around with the ATDC value I took it lower and made some prints, then returned it to original value. I was able to utilize a used drum for the 1st time ever.

They are picky. If you ran f8 already then psh developer in and clear the counters with the side door open then shut it and. Run f8 again.

I had a 350 just last week that I attempted about 4-5 times to reset PC life and it stayed put.

We were told in class to leave the side door open until ready to run F8... which is how I have been doing it.

I ended up closing the door without the image unit in place and quickly entered service mode and reset again and it took. A solution says to reset the counts with the old items still in place with door closed, I may try that next time.

But, I will still check the counter afterwards.

Try this procedure and do not skip any steps:
              To Calibrate Dev:
              Counter
              Special Parts Counter
              Clear PC Life
              Clear IC Life
              Touch END
              SHUT OFF copier
              change drum and dev
              go in Tech Rep Mode:
              Function
              F8
Start - calibration takes 2 minutes
when start key turns green press End

I can confirm that procedure. Most important seems to shut off the copier with the main switch at the rear after resetting the counters.

I have used the main switch afterwards 100% of the time. The other day I tried several different combinations followed by the main switch and it simply would not reset, I have had to go in twice before but never more than that. On my next PM I will try to do it differently and see if anything changes with regards to the resetting. But I really really look those developing units over like a hawk before I install the new items and therefore the need for doing the reset with the door open.
