BzH 200 Counters don't match now....

    Hello,

I'm having issues with a Bizhub 200. My tech recently replaced a memory chip on one of the boards. I'm not too sure what it is called, but it is the chip with the battery on it.

Now, everything is working fine BUT the mechanical reader does not match the counter on the utility screen or match what the counter was before the chip swap.

Does anyone know how to adjust these to match?

    Thanks,
    Steve

What your tech replaced was the NVRAM. It is machine specific, meters and serial number and they cannot be reprogrammed, not even by KMBS.

Record the old meters if you can and now the new and go from there.

On the few machines where we've replaced the NVRAM, we just continue with hard counters (fine with an old C450, or prejurrasic C350 or 8031, with mechanical black counter)... A bit of a pain, but manageable.

Where a cooked-off NVRAM (all the blue smoke leaks out) has scrambled the meters (e.g. Total meter= "-2494576"), it's better to replace NVRAM and zero the meters.

Though they sigh heavily, it's a simple matter for Accounts Receivable to "zero" the billing meters.
