[Electrical] red led on network port

Normally on the network port there is a green LED that lights up when the network is connected and a yellow one which flashes with the data. I was at a 421 recently and when I connected my laptop the lights were normal. However when I connected the customers network, the (normally)green LED went red but the data light flashed as normal. I couldnt verify if it was printing as the machine had another fault but I just wondered if anyone has seen this red LED before?? Cheers...

I remotely recall this might indicate the network speed perhaps.

Yup, I turned off auto detect network speed and set it to 100mbs full duplex and the led went to green. I can only assume that the machine could not negotiate a speed and thats why the led went red, presumably as a warning....
