        bertley,

this is a common error code, it refers to your developer unit. You need to change your drum unit, developer and developer unit. This has always been the fix for me. To be specific, your tsr sensor is toast... swap both of these units at the same time and you will have no issues, make sure to run your f8 cycle and clear your image unit counter!

        thanks!

Right procedure in case of service code C-2557, "stolen" from another forum:

          "Reset Procedure Bizhub 200. 250. 350
          1) Reset drum and developer counter
          2) Turn the machine off by the main switch at the back and on again after 15 seconds and confirm if
          counters are reset.
          3) Open and remove the IU
          4) Replace the drum and developer
          5) Reinstall the IU but leave side door open
          6) Turn the machine on
          7) Confirm that the drum and developer counts are clear
          8) Run the TCR/F8 according to the manual but close side door before hitting Start"

I don't know why this procedure has become so complicated. Just clear the PC counter with the side door open, close the side door and run F8. I have done this 100 times and had no problems. It is easy. You don't have to alter the ATDC setting afterward.

Sometimes counters will not be reset. KonicaMinolta advises too to switch of the machine with the master switch after resetting the counters first before proceeding.

I can honestly say that I have never turned the machine off after clearing the drum count. I am not saying the long procedure doesn't work however, I am saying that techs have become overly paranoid when it comes to the model.

Than you where very lucky. I wasn't in 30% of the cases so I followed from than on the procedure as KonicaMinolta described in their Solutions as follows.

                    Copied from KonicaMinolta Solutions List:

"Solution ID TAUS0655275EN* Solution Usage 18
                    Description
                    C2557 (C-2557).
                    Solution
CAUSE: The drum was replaced without replacing the developer.
SOLUTION: Replace both the drum unit and developer at the same time. Once the code occurs, developer must be replaced to properly recover.
The correct procedure for replacing the drum is as follows:
                    1. Select Tech. Rep. Mode => Counter => Special Parts Counter => PC Life.
                    2. Press the Clear Key to clear the counter value.
                    3. Turn OFF the main power switch.
                    4. Open the Right Door.
                    5. Remove the IU.
                    6. Remove four screws (silver) and disassemble the Photo Conductor Unit and the Developing Unit.
                    7. Replace the Photo Conductor Unit.
                    8. Remove three screws and the Developer Scattering Prevention Plate.
                    9. Remove the Toner Supply Port.
                    10. Remove the Developer.
                    11. Set the developer while rotating the gear in the direction of the arrow.
                    12. Reinstall the Toner Supply Port.
                    13. Using three screws, secure the Developer Scattering Prevention Plate.
                    14. Install the four screws to secure the Photo Conductor Unit and Developing Unit.
                    15. Install the IU in the copier.
                    16. Turn ON the main power switch.
                    17. Select Tech. Rep. Mode => Function => F8 and press the Start Key.
                    Notes :
                    a. After replacing the developer, be sure to execute F8 under Function of Tech. Rep. Mode.
                    b. When the main power switch is turned ON, execute F8 quickly.
