Sorry, am new to these machines. Is there any way of adjusting the lamp intensity or is there a common reason for this code?

Are you sure the error code is 14A3?
You can try out the Scan Calibration, founded in Service Mode -> System 2

I have a Konica Minolta C220 with the same error code.
Do anyone know if it's easy to disassemble your way to the lamp?
