    scratches on drum surface

    good day,
we have a problem in one of our clients where in the drum unit of Yellow encountered scratches on it. We have already replaced the developing unit and the drum and the charge corona to check the cause but unfortunately, the newly installed drum unit has also been damaged with scratches. The scratch seem to be hit by something hard and the damaged was a straight line folloeing the curvature of the drum surface...

any idea on what causes the scratch?

    thanks

Do/did you use setting powder when installing a new drum?

Pretty difficult to get a scratch/ gouge in a drum after it is installed. Were is the scratch? Did it occur in the same area?

When you changed the dev unit, did you also fit new dev ? Check the mag roller, if there are any marks on it, it is contamination or hard lumps of toner in the dev unit.
            Seen it before.

Assuming that the drum(s) are installed properly, if you have another machine swap out the entire transfer assembly or at least take a close look at the assembly you have and investigate for any abnormalities.

Check the charge corona grid for kinks

                    Re: scratches on drum surface

I was encountered the same problem on C6500 drum cyan scratch. have been replaced charging unit, dev, and dev unit but the cyan drum still scratch after running 200+ sheets. So far 4 units drum was scratch. The scratches look like hitting by sharp cutter blade. any solution is appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

                    machine was using DU102C
