    Bizhub C220 HDD

    Hi guys, iv had a harddrive go on a C220. am i right in thinking that i can use any sata harddrive?

      Yes it is a SATA, Not Sure but would you need to re image the drive before putting it into the machine ? im pritty sure if formatted using a linux ext 3 partition. or would you just enable it on the machine and use the machines format utility.

        use the machine to format the drive, and then do your firmware updates as well.

          I would update firmware first, then format HDD.
          It is the machine that formats the HDD, if you do it backwards you are just asking to place another post here because the machine wigged out.
          Why do they call it common sense?

          If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

            if there is a fax unit attached to the machine you will need to follow the order I stated above. some of the firmware is written to the hard drive, and that's why you need to format the drive first then do the firmware updates.
            there is some of the scanning firmware that is written to the drive, as all scans are written to the drive first before it is sent to its destination.
