      Or replace the image unit as the machine says.

          Welcome back...I still don't understand your "He who loves roses.." quote...and BTW changing the chip won't reset the count, maybe putting in a new chip might, but there is firmware available for this series that allows the consumabes to run as long as you want...much eaiser that re-chipping, and you probably will get better CQ as the MFP still sees the real life counts on the units versus fooling the MFP into thinking it's a brand new unit.
