Bizhub C450 exit sensor (PC30) problem

C450 exit sensor indicates constant paper jam, state confirmation sensor check shows '1' with no change when flag is moved. Sensor replaced, problem remains. Anyone have the pinout for the sensors? Anyone had wire harness problems with that sensor?

Check the service manual to see the diagram, you can follow the cables but it could be sometimes a bit hard.

yep, you will need to use the wiring diagram and a mulitmeter. If there is no breakage or shorts in one of the 3 wires from the PRCB to the PS you speak of, either the new PS is faulty or the printer control board itself is cactus.

Sounds like a fun job that actually involves some real good old fashioned fault finding.

This is assuming its not something stupid like a bent locating tab for the PS so movement of the actuator is restricted.

Got it. No +5 at the sensor end. Pulled apart the connector at the door hinge and had +5 there. Took the door apart to find that I'm not the first one in there. Rubber doughnut for routing 3-wire harness was gone and wires were pinched against the metal frame and grounded (see photo). A little tape and careful reassembly - good to go. Thanks for the help!
