Any tips or tricks for running perfed paper through a c8000???

My boss, in his infinite wisdom, took on a job that needed perfing, and got the perfs done first. We're now left to run the job without getting more than 100 sheets out between jams. Its getting Quite irksome, does anyone have any little tips, tricks or workarounds that might improve things a little. Or should I just grin and bare it (something I don't particularly want to do)

Thanks for any help that may be forthcoming

What size is the paper and how is it perforated? Give us a picture, if possible.

I don't have a way of sending a picutre I'm afraid...but I'll try and describe it as best I can:

      Paper size: SRA3 (450x320mm)

The perf is perpendicular to the feed direction, and seperates the trailing 1/3rd from the leading 2/3rds (approx)

for the perferation itself, it looks like gaps of about 1/2mm, and the bits of paper holding it together are about half that

      Was that any good?

      thanks

I'd suggest feeding the paper leaving the perforation at the trailing edge, but that's not always possible. You can use the process adjustment to slow down the machine speed and the feeding cadency. Other than that, I guess you can just cross your fingers and hope that your boss didn't buy just the right ammount of paper, as you'll most probably waste quite a lot.

I like the idea of slowing the machine down, how would I go about that on the 8000?

I was thinking of the C6501, I don't know if the 8000 has that option, but it should have - anyone else in the know can please chime in?

I had a look in process adjustment and couldn't find anything, I'll give the manual a bit of a peruse

set the paper option to slow down, its called speed down, you can set it on the options for the paper, also i dont know how thick it is, but you can sometimes lower the paper specs, so it only runs though 1 fuser, less then 163gms, should help.

Next time get it micro-perfed after you print.
