Konica 7030 scanning and faxing

We just inherited a Konica 7030 with IP-421 and KN-303. We would like to get the machine to scan and fax.

The IP-421 is capable of scanning, but I think it needs a hard drive. I'm not sure if it needs anything else. The spot for the hard drive in the IP-421 looks like a 2.5" hard drive. Can I just get one of those or does it need to be a special one?

What do I need to do to get this machine to fax?

laptop hard drive will do, it will format to the size it needs.
FK-101 will get you faxing - bolts onto the back.
