There are two plastic rollers right before the registration roller where they sit snug right up against them. I've seen them in 600/750...and they maybe in the 601/751...now that you brought it up I can't remember if they are or not...but they may be in both series..."In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

Re: What dies this thing do?
Sorry, I'm not clear in my question. I don't wanna know what machine they are in, I wanna know their primary purpose for being in the machine, to keep paper dust out of what?Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

Re: What dies this thing do?
Well they are mostly in high speed machines....and before registration so probably to keep registration and the IU from getting caked in the dust...as I said before in schools where they do not use the highest quality paper that massive amounts of dust would be a nightmare if they got clogged up in those areas..."In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

Re: What dies this thing do?
They are to collect the talc/filler from the cheap paper often used so that it does not get carried further into the machine and get attracted to the drum along with the toner, as this would cause blotchy copies as well as even more toner dumping as the more white dust that is mixed with the recycled waste toner, gives even greyer black patches which gives even more over-toning !!There is a large full width collector on the 950/920/1050 series that is on the underside of the sync/reg roller and these little pads are on top on the white pressure rollers. A further one is inside the top of the right hand side door of the same units and is normally forgotten about as it is unseen! Please do not PM me without asking first.Comment
