Pro C6501 not recognizing the FD-501

I am lost now. I have a C6501 we just got in (used). I have worked on these, but not with the FD installed. I have an RU-504 installed, machine recognizes that fine. I also have an SD and FS and if I eliminate the FD out of the line these also power up and work fine. I have tried a second FD-501 and the same result. I get a blinking light on the board, but no go on the machine recognizing it. I can't imagine I have 2 bad FD-501s but if anyone can shed any light on this I would appreciate it. Thanks

bizhub_PRO_C6500_Config_vB5.pdf which fiery do you have fd will not recognise with IC408 only with IC303 or IC304 and IC305

controllers aside i think you may need to flash all the options starting with the finishers and work your way to the main body all the SD ,FD ,FS LS are all shared with the biz1050 and you may have an FD 501 from a biz1050 good luck

FD-503InstallInstr.pdf oops looks like you need FD 503 with a C6501
