Firmware versions

I've got a question.

When upgrading firmware for Konica Minolta copiers, which is better:

Load the latest firmware ( be it Special Program etc)

OR

Load the latest "Mass Production Firmware"?

We've always loaded the latest mass production program. Solution and Special FW is used when needed, but for a bog standard update I think it's best to use the mass production FWs.
